Group visit

As the Casa de Portinari Museum has the peculiarity of being installed in the house that belonged to the painter’s family, its rooms are small and, for reasons of safety and enjoyment of the visit, overcrowding is not allowed. Therefore, if you want to bring a group of more than 12 people to the museum, it is important to follow the guidelines below:

  • The scheduling of group visits is done by phone only, check here the agenda with the available dates and times, and then call the museum to make the appointment.
  • The visitor will only access the museum during its opening hours – Tuesday to Sunday, from 9 am to 6 pm.
  • As the museum does not have its own parking, vehicles can be left around Praça Candido Portinari.
  • The embarkation and disembarkation of vehicles at the service of scheduled institutions (buses, minibuses or vans) must be made at Praça Candido Portinari, in the presence of a person responsible for the group/school.
  • Buses may only be parked on the streets beside the museum, always in accordance with current municipal traffic regulations.
  • Upon arrival at the museum, the person responsible for the group must identify themselves in the administration.
  • The return time of the buses and the meeting place must be previously agreed between those responsible for the groups and the driver.
  • The museum does not have a snack bar, but students can have a snack at Praça Candido Portinari, which is located on the museum’s terrace.
  • Those responsible for the groups must be aware of the risks of damage to equipment (objects in the collection, infrastructure or signaling).
  • Groups of a maximum of 20 people will only be allowed to circulate and stay inside the museum, always accompanied by their guardians/monitors.
  • For security reasons and guaranteeing better visitation, the museum does not allow the passageways to be obstructed. The smallest rooms can hold no more than one (01) group of 10 people at a time, while the largest rooms can accommodate up to a maximum of one (01) group of 20 people simultaneously.
  • Before leaving, those responsible for the groups should check that they are not missing any member of their group, with special attention to the children.

Important

  • Children must be identified with a badge containing their name and contacts of the institution to which they belong;
  • Backpacks, bags and snacks should preferably be stored on the bus for greater comfort and safety for the group or in the luggage storage provided by the museum;
  • Visiting institutions must designate two adult companions for each group of 20 people. The accompanying persons must remain with the group, keeping them together from the beginning to the end of the visit, being responsible for their behavior and conduct inside the museum;
  • Each group must contain a maximum of 20 people and enter the museum as directed by museum staff;
  • Inside the museum, behaviors such as running, dispersing from the group, using cell phones and talking loudly are considered inappropriate. The institution’s management asks that both scheduled visiting groups and those responsible (cultural tourism guides, educators, teachers, among others) meet these requests.
